Challenge #9
In your own space, promote at least one canon that you adore (old, new, forever fandom). Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
So this is a good opportunity to talk about how I've been rewatching Gargoyles except not really. The full series is available on Disney+, and savvy fans have been encouraging each other to make use of the stats collected by streaming services -- i.e., they notice that a lot of people have been watching a show, they hopefully attempt to capitalize on its popularity, bottom line, we get the Gargoyles reboot that we deserve.
Wishful thinking it may be, but it didn't take me long to realize that I love having this show on in the background while I'm doing other stuff. It's got a rich, complex premise, a beautiful romantic arc, bloody brilliant creature designs, Villainous Tony Stark With a Ponytail, guest appearances from every mythological tradition you can name, a talented voice cast, and endless potential for fan response.
As I've probably mentioned before (but it's been a while since I've talked about Gargoyles at all; do I even have a tag for it?), I came late to this fandom, or I'd probably know the whole thing like the back of my hand. As it is, at least I know that every time I rewatch I'm going to find something new to love about it. I really hope I can do my part to drum up more interest from others, especially if you can help out with the vote-by-streaming project. :)
Incidentally, I'm out of town right now, which is why Gargoyles is not currently playing in the background. As soon as my husband leaves the room I'm going to play "Toss a Coin to Your Witcher" again so I can fill out the Music field.
...Never mind, he's not leaving so I just had him choose a song.
